The Princess & The Pea

My favourite children's store!

I've just been checking out some of the new products on the P&P website, and I just love this book: Cool Spaces for Kids. I've put my order in and can't wait till it's in my hands.
And this little backpack is just adorable too. Now all I have to do is convince one of my two little girls that it would be awesome to have a plane attached to your back... hmm perhaps if they came in pink??

are you a picky person?

These repurposed kids clothes from Elsje of 'picky' are just perfect. I love the texture, the style, the recycling, and they look so comfortable.

Check out the picky store on Etsy.

a noisy noise annoys an oyster

Christmas is over. Hoorah! OK so I don't mean to sound like Ebeneezer, but hey, it's all a little too hectic. The hullabullo that surrounds this time of year is frightening.

Now back to work! I've been getting into crochet a bit more lately, and loving all that can be done with it... my house has Become Overcome with fiber and all thing pertaining to it. But I just can't be stopped. I think that perhaps one day soon I will wake up with a jolt in the middle of the night, only to find knitting needles in my hands, and a newly created scarf on my doona.

Hmmm. Picking colours for a scarf with my eyes closed could be interesting.

New Year's Resolutions?? It's a wonder that I still make them. OK so 2009 needs me to start painting and drawing again. Now I've said it. On the internet. There is no escaping it.

organically obsessed

I've discovered an amazing shop near my house. It's actually an online store called ecoyarns - but you can visit by appointment and check out the lovely yarns in person, which is what I did.

Vivian stocks a wonderful range of organic and eco-friendly yarns; wool, cotton, bamboo, just to name a few. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on some cotton yarn so I could create something.

So after much umming and ahhing (I just couldn't decide!!) I picked a range of cotton and wool, and set off home. And this is my first organic creation...

You can see some more organic wearable art on my website. There's wrist warmers, arm warmers, cowls, beanies, and more...

beady

I am a real sucker for beads and baubles. I love dangly earrings. I love bangles and rings. I love a string of beads. If you're at all like me and looking for something beautiful and unique, visit Stephanie Gibson's Etsy store. We're moving into summer over here in Australia, while I'm knitting like crazy for the other half of the world. The great thing about this vice of mine, is that I can wear it ALL year round!

It really is Decorating Heaven!

I was looking for some inspiration the other day. I've decided that my girls REALLY need a room makeover. Poppy and Daisy both have their own rooms, and they are decidedly drab.

SO. I've been hunting for some decorating ideas, and I came across this great Australian site called Decorating Heaven. In particular, I adore the Playhouse theme and the Once Upon a Time theme. Now I just want to find some fantastic lighting, and I think we'll be all set!
